Hong Kong is beautiful

Good Morning my hungover JuJu (whom I literally dragged out of bed). JuJu came downstairs with me for our usual buffet breaky but left 5mins later to throw up ...  Poor little girl. Anyways, she looks great for someone who is hungover. After breaky, I had a little snack - they call it "Chi-see Cheung" - Cheese sausages. I love them - they're so addictive.

Today, we headed to Citygate Outlets Shopping Centre in Tung Chung. Citygate Outlets is home to over 80 international brand names offering discounts all year home - much like our very own DFO back in Sydney. I only managed to pick up these goodies which were a pair of Burberry pointy flats, a pair of black suede studded ankle boots and a Calvin Klein waist belt. 

After lunch, JuJu had finally gotten over the hangover and was feeling rather peckish. We dined in at Golden Shanghai Cuisine within the centre. For the dumplings lovers, you will absolutely enjoy it just as much as we did. 

From Tung Chun, we caught the Cable Car to Ngong Ping to visit the Giant Buddha which sits serenely atop Ngong Ping plateau amid the spectacular mountain scenery of Lantau Island.   

We literally climbed over 200 steps to reach the top. It was so tiring but I really wanted to take ANOTHER photo with the Giant Buddha. It was surely a crazy workout. JuJu was seriously having problems making it up, but despite the hangover - we made it...

On the MTR - Excellent train system. However, it is always this crowded.

Perching on 'The Peak' at 396 metres above sea level , The Peak Tower is located at Victoria Gap and is directly connected to the city centre by the The Peak Tram, which runs between the peak and The Peak Tram Terminus on Garden Road, just a short UPHILL stroll from the Central MTR station. 

Little souvenir, electronic, clothing, jewellery stores and restaurants are located within this centre. 

The world's famous Madame Tassaud's Wax Museum is also a place you can visit if you have not already been. The wax models of Hong Kong, American, Aussie celebrities are a truly amazing work of art. It is a must see !!!! 

I had already seen the museum the last time I was in Hong Kong so I did not see it again this time. 

But they do display two models at the front just so that you can get an idea of how what you will be seeing prior to entering the museum. This time round, 007's James Bond was there to greet us :)

It has been a tiring long day, it was so late and way past our dinner time. We decided to dine in at Pearl on the Peak. After all, we deserved some fine dining and was glad that we opted for this restaurant as opposed to our initial choice of a steak house. 

Pearl on the Peak focuses on simply presented, savoury grills inspired by western classics and succulent seafood dishes - cooked with fresh, great tasting ingredients and appealing to a broad range of tastes. 

This is probably the priciest restaurant within the centre but pulling in the fashionable foodies in its cool design and modern australian cuisine, I have got to say that it was an amazing and worthwhile dining experience here in Hong Kong so far. We had bread with dips - complimentary, (raw) wagyu beef (My favourite dish - unique sweet & tangy flavour burst in your mouth), chicken caesar salad, seafood paella and delicious desserts. 

Breathtaking floor-to-ceiling glass walls with an amazing view, we were seated in a semi circle couch booth (with cushions for extra comfort), relaxing to the chill-out background music and treated with exceptional friendly customer service definitely underlines the chic concept of the restaurant. 

I highly recommend Pearl on the Peak to anyone who plans to visit Hong Kong. 

After an amazing dinner, we went up to the Sky Terrace at 428 metres above sea level. It is the highest viewing platform in Hong Kong offering a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the city skylights.

We had requested a room change the night before as we wanted a smoking floor. So coming back to the hotel from such a long day, our luggages were in an even bigger room on level 16.

This is probably a message for my JuJu who may consume excessive alcohol every now and then. Anyway, if she gets blind drunk - I'm not sure if she would even be able to read it. HAHA
